
The Fort Peck Tribal Court is organized under Title II of the Comprehensive Code of Justice. Section 301 sets out the qualifications for judges and justices. Section 501 sets out the qualifications for attorneys and lay advocates.
Section 301 states that judges and justices must pass a judge’s qualifying exam. Section 501 states that attorneys and lay advocates must pass a Tribal bar exam. Both exams are routinely given in June.
The application for the exam is attached. The application is due 2 weeks before the exam. The application fee for the bar exam is $75.00.
The next Tribal Bar Exam and Judges Qualifying Exam will be June 28, 2013.
